Are you breathing?
For many of us, doing what we said we would do is nothing new, the challenge for us is to do so with ease. I would like to invite you to take a deep breath right now and ask yourself this question: “Would it be alright with me if life got easier?”
I grew up with the household slogan of “No pain, no gain!” Before I found yoga, I truly believed that if I wasn’t working my fingers to the bone to the point of exhaustion; I wasn’t working hard enough.
There are a variety of ways we make life harder than it needs to be.
The yoga practice teaches us that life is a dance between effort and ease.
Today I invite you to join me in the practice of simply reminding ourselves to breathe. The breath is our #1 soothing and coping mechanism. It’s free and always accessible. Just for today, would it be possible to use your breath as a tool to make your day a little bit easier?
